Barrow Common Radar Station

Barrow Common Radar Station

Built in 1940 to detect aircraft approaching the Norfolk coastline.

Initially it was manned by the army. In early 1942 it was taken over by the RAF as a Joint Air and Surface Station. It closed in 1944.

Today the operations block and generator room survive.
